Witness reports
Eyewitness testimony can identify locations, behavior and recurring patterns, but testimony alone does not establish what a witness encountered.
Physical evidence
Tracks, casts, photographs, recordings and biological material should be documented with provenance and examined for ordinary explanations before extraordinary conclusions are considered.
Source discipline
Repeated stories are not independent corroboration. Original sources, dates, locations and the chain by which a claim reached publication matter.
Uncertainty matters
Unknown should remain unknown when the available evidence cannot support a stronger conclusion. Investigation is strengthened—not weakened—by saying what the evidence does not establish.
