Bigfoot in Michigan

Michigan may not lead the nation in reported sightings, but the state has produced a long-running body of alleged encounters. Forest, wetland and agricultural corridors create large areas in which wildlife can move with limited human observation.

One account preserved from the original MIBFIO site involved two witnesses hearing a long, human-like scream from woods bordering their workplace. A hunter present reportedly ruled out coyotes. Not long afterward, motorists were said to have stopped along a nearby highway after seeing a large unidentified figure.

As with all witness accounts, an allegation is a starting point for investigation—not proof of the creature's identity.
